The Who’s final farewell tour will be taking place two years from now. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey told London’s Evening Standard in a recent interview that the band’s final tour will be in 2015 to mark their 50th anniversary.
Yes, it has been over three decades since The Who’s first farewell tour in 1982, but it sounds like this will be the final farewell.
“For the 50th anniversary we’ll tour the world,” Townshend said. “It’ll be the last big one for us. There are still plenty of places we’ve not played. It would be good to go to eastern Europe and places that haven’t heard us play all the old hits.”
The Who are releasing a special edition box set of their 1969 rock-opera Tommy on Nov. 12.
