INSANITY ALERT will be touring in support of their latest album, 666-pack, which was released on January 25, 2019. The full stream of 666-pack can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

The album can be ordered in CD and various colored vinyl format HERE.

Thrash outfit INSANITY ALERT are the kind of people who know what to bring to a party: a big dose of humor with a dash of darkness, party tunes, and a six pack. It’s these ingredients that make up the basis of the band’s third full length record, ‘666-pack.’

The world of INSANITY ALERT is a dark yet happy place. Fast, aggressive music, crazy lyrics about alcohol, rage, weed, ignorance, and hate, all drenched in an 80’s hot sauce but played with a 2019 attitude. The band emerged from the Austrian city of Innsbruck in 2011, with only one intent: deliver crushing, crossover party thrash.

A tongue-in-cheek concept backed up by strong musical prowess worked out extremely well as First Diagnosis proved in 2012. This demo was welcomed with open arms and the first impression of the public quickly confirmed by Second Opinion, which came out the year after. In 2014, debut album, Insanity Alert delighted critics and fans alike and was reissued four years later by Season of Mist. The wild Tyrolians, always eager to please, next served a juicy Moshburger (2016).

With 666-pack the band proves once more to be an unstoppable force. Whether it is dropping a to-the-point, crossover track such as “The Body Of The Christ is The Parasite” or INSANITY ALERT-esque interpretations of classics like “Saturday Grind Fever,” the groove will have you headbanging in no time with a smirk on your face. Having confirmed their first festivals for 2019 and riding the wave of the thrash metal revival, INSANITY ALERT can’t wait to return to the stage and share (a) 666-pack with you!

WARBRINGER Announces Extensive Co-Headline Tour With Enforcer

Los Angeles-based thrashers WARBRINGER have been road dogs since their inception, but this fall, the band will hit the road for their most grueling and extensive tour yet – a co-headline trek across the U.S. and Canada with Sweden’s Enforcer that will see the two groups play 54 shows in 54 days. The complete itinerary appears below.

This is not the first time WARBRINGER and Enforcer have shared the stage together, as the two groups previously co-headlined a successful North American tour in early 2016. Since then, both acts have hoped for another opportunity to perform together – and this fall, they’ll have 54!

“We are pleased to announce an extensive North American tour for Fall 2019,” says WARBRINGER vocalist John Kevill. “We will be hitting the road for 54 consecutive dates with our Swedish speed metal brothers, Enforcer. Looking forward to seeing you guys again and wrecking whatever place we are in!”

WARBRINGER expects to release a new album – their second for Napalm Records – during the tour. Says Kevill, WARBRINGER has been forging new material and will be entering the studio this summer to track a new record. We have been hard at work crafting a follow-up to 2017’s Woe to the Vanquished, a record we are very proud of. As always, we want to keep our standard of quality as high as possible, both widening the band’s sound but still keeping the whole thing totally relentless and vicious.”

In recent weeks, WARBRINGER played two memorable sets on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise and headlined a sold-out hometown show at the Whisky A Go Go. The performances continued the band’s momentum from 2018, which saw them perform at notable festivals in both their home continent (Heavy Montreal, Full Terror Fest, Frost & Fire) and abroad (Summer Breeze, Sabaton Open Air, Motorcultor). In addition, the group played a number of European shows alongside Sepultura in support of their recently-released 7-inch single “Power Unsurpassed.”

Over the past dozen years, WARBRINGER has released five acclaimed albums of intense, aggressive thrash and toured with a who’s who of metal, including Testament, Obituary, Napalm Death, Suffocation, Overkill, Kreator, Soilwork, Municipal Waste, Skeletonwitch, Nevermore, Symphony X, Iced Earth and Death Angel, among others. More information on the group’s forthcoming album will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

LONGFIELD will be touring in support of her ambitious new album, Disparity, which was released on November 30, 2018 via Season of Mist, making it the guitarist’s debut to the label. Disparity sees LONGFIELD raise her virtuoso playing and unique tapping technique (adapted from piano-playing fundamentals) to astounding new heights. Her music defies all genre constriction while artfully melding complex melodies with incredible levels of guitar shred. LONGFIELD is in the vanguard of young players leading the evolution of the modern guitarist, with Disparity being a fascinating and mesmerizing glimpse inside the storm. Listen to Disparity in full HERE.

LONGFIELD got her start on YouTube, cultivating a growing audience of over 215,000 subscribers. Ultimate Guitar recently named her one of the Top 25 YouTube Guitarists (#13).

Additionally, the 8-string extraordinaire recently debuted her first ever signature guitar via Strandberg at the 2019 NAMM Show. Details on her signature axe can be found HERE.

After years of playing the piano and the violin, multi-instrumentalist Sarah Longfield found her true musical calling when she purchased her first 7-string guitar at the age of 13. Her first EP’s ‘Zeal’ (2011) and ‘Par Avion’ (2012) received high praise from critics and fans alike.

In 2012, Longfield formed the band THE FINE CONTSTANT. In just a few years, the band released two full length albums, and toured the world supporting MARTY FRIEDMAN, ANGEL VIVALDI, POLYPHIA, and performing at festivals such as UK Tech Fest, Euroblast Fest, SXSW, and more. Her band has been hailed as “an exceptional breed of top-notch instrumental metal” (No Clean Singing), featuring “experimental know-how with a more finely-tuned approach to songwriting that bleeds together passages of spacey electronics and intertwining guitar melodies.” (Heavy Blog is Heavy)

Longfield first gained notoriety from her prolific playthrough and guitar demonstrations on her YouTube channel. Since then, Longfield has uploaded a collection of over 100 videos, featuring playthroughscover songssolo material, vlogs, and much more. To date, Longfield‘s channel has over 215,000 subscribers, and amassed millions upon millions of views.

CONAN Announce Additional North American Tour Dates

UK Doom Metallers CONAN are currently in the midst of a North American tour. The tour runs through March 15th in Austin, TX. Today CONAN have announced additional North American tour dates for June and July alongside Witchkiss. These dates start June 23rd in Frederick, MD and wraps up July 6th in Rapid City, ND.

CONAN will return back to the states in April, supporting Black Label Society on their 20th Anniversary Tour with Atomic Bitchwax rounding out the bill. The tour begins April 24th in Denver, CO and runs through May 23rd in Los Angeles, CA.

If troglodytes could have gotten their paws on a Fuzzthrone or other fuzz pedals…they would have probably bashed each others skulls in. CONAN on the other hand use these beautiful tools to wrench the maximum out of their legendary Caveman Battle Doom.

The British trio presents a tar monster named Existential Void Guardian that seems even more menacing as soon as it gets high on its own down-tuned groove frenzy. Two years after the remarkable Revengeance, CONAN once more leave us baffled with a previously unknown side to dual vocal sludge, painful melody splinters and the true beauty that lies in dissonance, and it always will.

Order Existential Void Guardian HERE.

HEAVY AS TEXAS, Featuring Members of Exhorder, to Release New Album in April

Acclaimed guitarist Marzi Montazeri and vocalist Kyle Thomas – otherwise recognized as members of Louisiana-based metal pioneers Exhorder (named by Spin as one of the 30 Greatest Thrash Bands of All Time) – are thrilled to announce their brand new, whiskey-soaked, aggressive metal project, HEAVY AS TEXAS.

HEAVY AS TEXAS plans to release their brand new self-titled album on April 19, 2019 via Crunchy Western Records. Pre-orders are available now via iTunes and the band’s official website.

Get a taste of a brand new HEAVY AS TEXAS track, entitled “To Keep a Promise”, now via a brand new music video directed by Mark Borchardt. Watch here via Guitar World.

For the album, HEAVY AS TEXAS tapped renowned drummer Anup Sastry (Marty FriedmanJeff LoomisSkyharbor) and notable engineer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Collier (KornProngWinds of Plague) on bass. Currently, the Houston, TX-based band’s line-up is rounded out by full time members Lenwood Sonnier on bass, and James Goetz on drums.

The new HEAVY AS TEXAS album was produced by guitarist Marzi Montazeri, with mix and mastering duties handled by Chris Collier.

Marzi Montazeri says, “I started this project simply because I wanted to perform new music but wasn’t able to sing and play complex rhythms at the same time. So I thought, I’ll stick to my strengths – the guitar and writing songs! I brought in a vocalist that would fit it perfectly – the one and only Kyle Thomas! As soon as Kyle joined everything musically fell into place.”

After the album drops, HEAVY AS TEXAS plans to begin writing their next effort and to hit the road in support of both. Montazeri adds, “I want to play our music for everyone all over this planet. We have stayed true to our art through complete artistic integrity and we display that live, so it is our duty to get it out to the people and celebrate our own brand of music!”

Heavy metal fans may also recognize guitarist Marzi Montazeri for his contributions to various projects featuring Philip Anselmo throughout the years, as well as his performances with the annual Randy Rhoads Remembered events at NAMM. Vocalist Kyle Thomas is also recognized for his time with Alabama Thunderpussy.

Stay tuned, hang on tight and prepare for the wild ride that is HEAVY AS TEXAS!

COMBICHRIST Drops Futuristic Anthem “Hate Like Me”

Electro-industrial metal leaders COMBICHRIST recently announced details regarding the release of their upcoming razor-sharp ninth full-length album, One Fire, scheduled for release on June 7, 2019 via Out of Line Music. Precise, lurking, ultramodern and merciless, One Fire is a retrospect and forecast in one for COMBICHRIST. Cold, industrial riffs mixed with ominous metal forge a sinister alliance and reflect a return to roots – molded by nearly two decades of experience and a futuristic outlook.

Beginning today, One Fire is available for pre-order via all major digital retailers. In addition, the band is streaming the haunting, unrelenting anthem, “Hate Like Me”! Pre-order One Fire and stream “Hate Like Me” now here.

You can also check out a new lyric video for “Hate Like Me” now here.

COMBICHRIST mastermind Andy LaPlegua says about “Hate Like Me”, “We all used to be so full of passion. For music, for love, for… hate. What happened to you? You used to hate like me.”

Andy LaPlegua says One Fire is a progression in sound in comparison to past releases, and that he referred back to his roots during the writing process. “I feel the goal with every album until now has been to push the sound further,” says LaPlegua. “That said, with this album, I have gone back in time and used everything I’ve learned over the last 15 years, and taken inspiration from all my favorite elements of the COMBICHRIST evolution.”

LaPlegua says that while the purely industrial metal album is full of constant aggression, it’s meant to be therapeutic for all. The album puts a focus on hidden illnesses, such as mental illness – something that he feels society should be paying more attention to. Pain doesn’t always manifest on the surface.

LaPlegua adds, “The album is very much meant to be a social commentary, putting focus on mental illness and rebellion. While physical damage is accepted and very obvious in our society, hidden health problems, such as mental illness, are regarded as ‘just being in your head’. I’m trying to let the listener into the mind of someone who’s struggling to get by every day.”

One Fire features several special guest contributions, including vocal offerings from Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) on the heart-stopping industrial metal mad-dash “Guns at Last Dawn”, which was also co-written/mixed by Gigantor of hardstep drum and bass group Evol Intent. Entrancing electro/industrial club banger “Last Days Under the Sun” was also co-written/mixed by Daniel Myer of German electronic project Haujobb.

One Fire also features an utterly mind-bending, orchestrally-fueled cover of the Dead Kennedy‘s classic “California Über Alles”. “”I discovered Dead Kennedy’s when I was 9 years old, and they changed my life completely,” says Andy LaPlegua. “I’ve always wanted to cover California Über Alles, and with the world the way it is right now and with the current political climate, it just felt perfect to do it right now.”

Formed in 2003, COMBICHRIST took founder Andy LaPlegua‘s hardcore past and electronica present and merged them into a singular, mechanical music monster. Since releasing the first COMBICHRIST album The Joy of Gunz, LaPlegua and COMBICHRIST have unleashed six subsequent full-lengths, including 2014’s We Love You, and numerous EPs while also cracking Billboard’s Top 10 Dance Singles chart. Their latest released studio effort, This is Where Death Begins, was produced by LaPlegua and Oumi Kapila (Filter), and mastered by the legendary Vlado Meller (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slipknot). An apocalyptic behemoth of guitars, electronica, infernal drums and dark elemental force, it is easily COMBICHRIST‘s most accomplished effort to date and landed the band a top 30 chart position in Germany. COMBICHRIST plans to expand on this success while returning to their industrial roots with 2019’s One Fire.

A Sound of Thunder Is Inducted To The Bullspike Radio Hall Of Fame

Everyone learns about bands from various places. Some from radio, some from just randomly grabbing an album in a store, and some from friends and family. We here at Bullspike Radio first learned of A Sound Of Thunder when our own Turbo was told about them by Accept singer Mark Tornillo when suggesting adding A Sound Of Thunder’s front woman Nina Osegueda to the 2016 Rock Against Dystrophy All Stars. Knowing Mark wouldn’t steer him wrong on a singer or a band he researched A Sound Of Thunder and they quickly became a regular artist played on his show The Asylum and then in our regular rotation.

Rockin since 2008, A Sound Of Thunder brings the power metal vibe we’ve come to expect from Europe stateside. They’ve rocked with some of the greats that have rolled through their hometown DC area as well as beyond. In 2017 they made headlines around the world by releasing the song “Els Segadors (The Reapers)” early to show support for the political uprising that was happening In Catalonia, Spain. This lead them to play in Europe in front of thousands and helped them reach the goal in record time for the Kickstarter campaign that helped record their latest album It Was Metal.

A Sound Of Thunder is growing in power after ten years when many bands either start to fade or just level off. Because of their constant growth, dedication to their fans, and love of the music they play that we add A Sound Of Thunder to the Bullspike Radio Hall Of Fame Class Of 2018.

EDENBRIDGE Announces New Studio Album

EDENBRIDGE will release their new, tenth studio album DYNAMIND in 2019 and are currently in the process of recording.

Lanvall says: “The whole songwriting process for the new album took around 18 months and I soon realized, that we could bring the band sound to a new level. Our trademark sound of course is still there, nevertheless we have numerous interesting experiments on the album, where we explore new shores. Let it be the Irish sounding song “On the Other Side”, the half-ballad “Tauerngold” with its doom elements, or the 12 minute epically long track “The Last of His Kind”. Even after the long songwriting and arranging process I am still super excited with the new songs!”

Sabine adds: “As Lanvall already mentioned, the recordings to our new album are fully on and what I heard so far in the studio is more than promising. But this is only the beginning and it already sounds huge. So I am really burning to be behind the microphone soon to contribute my part. DYNAMIND seems to have a very special energy and will probably turn much upside down. Be prepared!”

EXUMER Reveals Details For New Album “Hostile Defiance”

On April 5th, legendary multinational thrash metallers Exumer will release their fifth full-length, Hostile Defiance, via Metal Blade Records.

Hostile Defiance is exactly what its title suggests. A 42-minute full on attack, the thrash faction hold nothing back as they unleash hell as only they can, yet with more variety and dynamics than ever before. “We wanted to sonically progress, incorporating more melodic elements in the music as well as more rhythmic variety,” states vocalist Mem Von Stein“We are a lot braver trying to create an up to date and relevant sound that can easily stand alone in today’s thrash landscape without sounding trite or a throwback, and we’re challenging the listener not to get too comfortable with one specific feel, tempo or pace.”

For a preview of the album, the video for the first single, “Hostile Defiance”, can be seen here. The clip was created by renowned cover artist Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Voivod, etc.), who also made the album artwork and layout for Hostile Defiance.
